I first planted vines in our field overlooking Red Wharf Bay in 2010. I totally mismanaged them, eventually producing a very small amount of unremarkable wine. Then I thought “Wouldn’t it be so much easier to grow grapes somewhere with a bit more sun?” So I had the idea to plant my vineyard in Andalucia, in southern Spain. Thwarted by the Common Agricultural Policy, I came back to Anglesey and learnt how to cultivate vines properly (but I brought some of Spain back with me!). This is the result - a Welsh vineyard conceived in Spain with, believe it or not, a unique wine blended from Spanish and UK grapes. Come and visit and hear my story….
